Update: Nokia 5310

I've been using my Nokia 5310 for the past couple of days. I love the slimmer, pretty shape, and yes, I'm the type of girl who cares about what her electronics look like. Anyhow, using the phone is fairly straightforward, although I don't see myself turning to it as my primary music device, because the functionality there just can't be matched to an iPod or other MP3 player that is specifically designed for music. The interface is easy to operate though. It's not that it's a bad little phone. I'm still getting used to it, and I like it more and more, the more I use it.

Giveaway: ObamaWear UPDATE WINNER DECLARED

In honor of the asskickingly cool Presidential Inauguration that can't come soon enough, I'm hosting a giveaway! One lucky person is going to get to celebrate the inauguration in style, with Obama gear from my CafePress shop.

I want you to be happy, so the winner can pick a men's shirt, women's shirt, thong, or coffee mug.

To enter, check out your choices, and leave a comment here telling me which item you'd prefer if you're the winner, and what size, if applicable. Make sure I'll be able to contact you, either through your own blog or by responding to your comment, or include some means.

I'll use a random number generator to select the winner. Two extra entries if you become a follower of this blog, or of Miss Grace's Disgrace (that gives you the possibility of five total entries). If you already follow either blog, mention it in your comment.

I'll be closing comments for new entries on January 9th at 1pm Pacific Time, and I'll draw a winner sometime after that.

Good luck, spread the word!

Update: The winner is Carolyn in Carolina. Thanks to all for playing!

Crystalyn Kae Clutch

I, who never win anything, ever at all? I won something! Can you believe it!?

Way back in June, I blogged about Crystalyn Kae bags. I've been sort of discretely checking in and ogling the goodies since I first stumbled on the site. And then I entered a contest. I never win contests, but if I don't enter, then I'll really never win, so I figured, why not? I should enter!

And I won!

And this morning I got a knock on the door from the UPS man, delivering this clutch ($75). I'm in love. It's a really good size; a little smaller than I was picturing, which I actually prefer. The material is fabulous, and I love the color. I'm not sure how completely I trust myself to actually clutch a clutch all night, but I'm going out tonight, and building my outfit around this, so I'll let you know.

This one is both beautiful and beautifully made.

Review: Nokia 5310

I have this phone for the next two weeks, courtesy of the folks at WOM World. So far I've sort of been focused on the two flaws of this plan.

The biggest flaw (which I recognize as a product of my current phone settings) is that my phone numbers are stored on my phone not my SIM, so when I powered up this phone, I was left with the ability to...call 9-1-1. My mind is a sieve, and phone numbers? Even the ones I've known since before the days of cell phones? They have tendency to fall right out of there and shatter on the floor.

Second biggest flaw? The company who sent me the phone is based out of the UK, and the charger? Doesn't so much fit in my handy dandy A-merican outlets.

Good news! It also comes with a USB cord, so it CAN be charged, but I have to be at my computer the charge my phone, which is just...less convenient, if'n you know what I mean.

Anyhow, I've gone so far as to charge up the phone and switch the simmy sims, so hopefully I'll have some more positive things to say about it once I've actually used it for a bit.

Review: Symphony Sonata

Can I suggest an excellent method for working out your sexual frustrations? Start reviewing products on Eden Fantasys. Life as a single mother is hard in a lot of ways, but I think that the most frustrating thing of all is my shrinking sex life. Luckily for me, they make toys for that. For my first assignment I chose the Symphony Sonata. I chose it because it's pretty, and it looked like it would probably feel good. It does.

The Sonata is composed of a very soft, pliable material that I generally prefer for toys, and it comes in your choice of pink or blue. I think that the best thing about this particular toy is that it has a spring sort of midway through the shaft, which allows for really good flexibility, so you're pretty much guaranteed to hit your g-spot. I'm surprised this isn't mentioned in the product description, as to me it's the major feature that distinguishes it from other toys in the same category, and it really does make it more pleasurable to use. Another highlight is the fact that there are two motors. One is the clitoral attachment, and then what I consider the bonus is the vibrating motor at the tip of the shaft.

Right now my fantasy life is a lot more interesting than my real one, so another nice thing about the Sonata is that is satisfyingly realistic, both in size and feel. With a little bit of lube the Sonata slides right in and quickly gets me where I need to be. It operates with a very soft hum, ideal for discretion. It's truly orgasmic, which of course is the point.

There is of course a downside; a lack of power. Of the three speeds, I can only work with the top two. Realistically, I only use the highest speed, but I did test out the middle one, yknow, for reviewing purposes. It could get me there, but it was a little frustrating, and not preferable.

Overall, I would recommend this toy for use. I think if you were going to go with one toy only, this would be a fine choice as in my opinion it covers all bases in one package. It's a lot of fun and it gets the job done.

Christmas List (But not really cuz it's sold out): Kindle

For the few hours that I actually made it to my CLA Annual Conference & Expo, I spent my time working in the Technology Petting Zoo. That's where I met my friend Kindle, which (when not sold out due to high demand) sells for $359 at Amazon.
Let me say something about this product: Viewing ads for it on a computer screen truly does not do the gizmo justice. I know that I looked at it and thought, "Meh, I don't really like to read on computer screen." Well I know they say it's not like that, but now that I've held it and touched and showed it my boobs, let me just say, IT IS NOT LIKE THAT. It's actually like reading a page. From a book. A book that's connected to the internets so when you finish it you can just up and download a new book from the device. And that's handy. And I want one. The end.

Kids movies that aren't soul sucking

First of all, there are a lot of kid's movies that I like okay and all, but I've seen WAY too many times, and the little bad parts that are in every kid's movie have just started to wear me down and I can't sit down and watch the whole thing anymore.
These are the ones that feature minimal cheesy/bad/inconsistent parts, which allow me to watch them on repeat with the TODDLER. Y'know if you're looking for movies to give to kids that won't drive their parents bonkers.
